Borehole water that stops staining your basins

We test the water first, then build the fix. Iron and manganese removal, sediment filtration, UV disinfection, booster pumps and JoJo tank plumbing for farms, guesthouses, smallholdings and body corporates across Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Every job gets logged with the site, the problem, the equipment fitted and the readings before and after. If your pressure drops when two taps run, or the laundry comes out rust-brown, start with a sample and a photo of the pump house.

Where to go next from the pump room

Most people land here after a water test or a photo of their setup. These three pages pick up the thread: the full archive, and two jobs that cover the problems we get asked about most.

Iron and manganese

Hartbeespoort Borehole Iron Removal

Rust-brown stains on basins and laundry on a family smallholding. Two-stage skid, backwashing iron filter ahead of a manganese bed, drain routed to the soakaway.

Pressure and supply

East Rand Booster Pump and Tank Stand

A body corporate where pressure collapsed when two taps ran. Variable-speed booster, rebuilt 5000 L JoJo stand, sediment filter and a correctly sized pressure vessel.

What clients say after the pump room settles down

Most of our work comes from referrals: a neighbour whose basins stopped staining, a trustee who finally got steady pressure, a guesthouse owner who stopped buying bottled water. Below are notes from sites around Hartbeespoort, Stellenbosch and the East Rand, plus the kind of properties we keep coming back to.

"Our borehole used to leave orange rings in the guest bathroom. After the iron filter went in, the washing comes out clean and we stopped hauling bottled water from town. The team pulled a sample first and showed us the numbers before and after."
Smallholding owner

Hartbeespoort, North West

"Six rooms, all showers running at seven in the morning, and the UV stage keeps up without dropping pressure. They kept our existing tank and pressure vessel and just added the sediment housing and reactor. The wall chart for cartridge swaps is genuinely useful."
Guesthouse owner

Stellenbosch, Western Cape

"Two taps open and the pressure used to fall away. The booster pump and rebuilt tank stand sorted it, and the trenching was done without cutting through the irrigation lines. Trustees have a maintenance schedule now instead of guesswork."

Borehole iron and manganese, sediment, stock and household supply.

Guesthouses

UV disinfection and filtration sized for peak morning demand.

Body corporates

Booster pumps, pressure vessels and JoJo tank plumbing.

Rainwater systems

Harvesting, first-flush and tank stand work for off-grid backup.

What we actually do on site

Most jobs start with a water sample and a walk through the pump house. From there it is usually one of a handful of problems: iron and manganese in a borehole, sediment coming through from the municipal line, bacteria that show up after heavy rain, or pressure that falls apart the moment a second tap opens. The list below is the work we do most weeks across Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Borehole water testing

We pull a sample at the borehole head and again after the pressure vessel, then read iron, manganese, hardness, pH and bacterial counts. That baseline decides whether you need filtration at all, or just a cartridge change and a flush.

Iron and manganese removal

Rust-brown staining on basins and laundry is the usual giveaway. A backwashing iron filter ahead of a manganese media bed handles most rural supplies, sized off your actual flow rate rather than a guess.

Sediment filtration

Grit and fine sediment chew through pumps and leave a film in geysers. We fit 10 or 20-inch housings with the right micron rating, and mark the change interval on the wall so nobody has to remember it.

UV disinfection

For guesthouses and farm stays where bacterial counts move around after rain, a UV reactor with a flow restrictor keeps the dose honest. We add a sample tap after the unit for quarterly lab checks.

Booster pumps and pressure vessels

If pressure drops when two taps run, the switch is usually cycling or the vessel has lost its charge. We replace the switch, size a variable-speed booster, and set the vessel pre-charge to match the demand.

JoJo tanks and rainwater harvesting

Tank stands, first-flush diverters, gutter screens and the plumbing back to the booster. Common on smallholdings and body corporates where municipal supply is either dirty or unreliable.
